http://tribesadozen.com/Product Description: Tribes-A-Dozen manufactures a unique kosher (OU) line of three Voilà! Hallah Egg Bread Mixes -- Simply Spelt, Traditional, and Wholey Wheat. Our wholesome, all natural bread mixes bring you back to a kitchen from long ago. Recreating the warmth. The heavenly aroma. And, the unmistakable taste. We keep it simple so you can bake these traditional breads to share fresh with friends and loved ones, and make every meal special. Hallah made easy, no one will guess it came from a mix because it tastes just like from scratch. "Break Bread, Not Tradition"

My Sampler box contained 3 of their boxed bread recipes. Voilà! Hallah Traditional Egg Bread Mix,Voilà! Hallah Wholey Wheat Egg Bread Mix and Voilà! Hallah Simply Spelt Egg Bread Mix. Each box comes with the bread mix and yeast packets. The instructions are clearly written with easy step by step directions. I like how it gives you times frames for mixing, rising and resting instead of just saying such and such consistency. I think it makes it much more accurate.

I made the Traditional Egg Bread Mix, and braided it per package instructions. I coated it with and egg wash and then this is where I went a little off on my own. When my bread braid was ready for the oven I coated it with cinnamon and sugar, about halfway through the backing process as the bread starts to rise and fill with air as it cooks it spreads the braid out and little areas untouched by cinnamon sugar start to show, I then added a little more egg wash and more cinnamon and sugar. This process left a nice cinnamon flavored crusty outer layer, while the inside of the bread was super soft and moist. I mixed up a little cinnamon butter using butter, sugar and cinnamon to taste and then sliced my bread braid and lathered it with the cinnamon butter.. and oh was it yummy!!  Talk about a super quick easy way to make bread.

  6. I love making egg bread and I always like to brush it with honey before baking and sprinkle some cheese on top for some cheesy crust. Hmmm... yum! I haven't tried this mix before.
